Who we are
Vellora is an independent, student-founded public health education and research project covering Texas counties. It is not affiliated with any government body or any medical institution.
Browsing the site
The site is a set of static pages. Maps, comparisons and analyses run entirely in your browser using data files published with the site; nothing you select is sent to us. Fonts are served from our own pages, not from a third-party font service.
Your selections (for example the indicator, county or period you are viewing) are kept in the page address so you can bookmark or share them. They never include personal information. If you share a link, anyone with it will see the same selections.
Vellora is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors. Cloudflare describes how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used overall, so we can improve it. We see only totals and averages, never individual visitors.
- What is recorded: the page visited (Cloudflare currently does not record the part of the address after “?”, so your map and comparison selections are not logged), the website that linked you here, your country, device type, browser and operating system, and how long the page took to load.
- How it works: a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com runs on each page and sends this information to Cloudflare (cloudflareinsights.com) when the page loads and when you leave it. As with any web request, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details when the script loads and when the report is sent.
- What it does not do: according to Cloudflare, Web Analytics uses no cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint visitors by IP address or browser details, and does not track you across other websites or build profiles.
- How long it is kept: Cloudflare keeps detailed analytics data for 7 days and then keeps a reduced sample. Vellora can view reports for up to six months.
- Your choice: blocking static.cloudflareinsights.com, for example with a content blocker, turns the analytics off. The site works fully without it.
What is stored in your browser
Vellora stores only the items below, in your browser’s local storage. They are not cookies, are not sent to any server, and you can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Articles and the source catalog link to official sources such as the CDC, NIH, MedlinePlus and HRSA. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave Vellora.
Children
Vellora is an educational resource suitable for students. The site has no accounts or forms, and its analytics do not identify visitors, so children can use it without sharing personal information.
Your choices
- You can use every part of the site without saving anything in your browser.
- You can remove saved preferences at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- You can block the analytics script with your browser’s privacy settings or a content blocker; the site still works.
- Because we hold no personal information about visitors, there is no account or profile to access, correct or delete.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — for example, if a contact form is added or our analytics provider changes — this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the effective date above will change.
